South Africa hols part one

Finally time to write about our vacation. We had three weeks in South Africa. We split the time between my mom's and Ciro's folks place pretty evenly and managed to spend as much time as possible with the family. Everyone managed to catch a bug (it is winter there now) in the second week and so did we so all were under the weather for a few days. I had organized a bunch of Chinese meds for the kids before leaving and that seemed to sort them out. Below is the hols in pics:)
On the high speed rail heading to Taoyuan

Bus from THSR Taoyuan station to the airport.

There is our plane...kids were so excited about the journey and the travelling went soooo well!!

We're off soon...

Engrossed in the movies.

Not so engrossed in the movies.

In Singapore 10pm-2am...roaming the halls.

At Granny's house..they both fell in love with Pablo. One Granny has Pablo the cat (used to be C and my cat) and the other Granny and Gi pa have Pablo the dog.

Pablo probably put on a few kg's while we were there, every time he turned around a child was feeding him.

At Granny's house with a cabbage patch doll.

Dylan loved the garden...playing in sand, watering etc...

Maya with her Granny.

Daniel, Granny and Ryanee.

Oh we are so Taiwanese...first thing kids did ...shoes off. Okay and us too.

At my mom's school in Phokeng.

Lion park ...the lions were checking Maya out as though she were lunch:)

6 week old cub.

Maya and Gi-pa.

Watering the garden...and at one point me...

Cricket in the garden with Gi-pa.

Pablo thought the best places to lie were Ciro's sketchpad or my mom's lap while knitting...I was not doing anything therefore I was not a candidate.

Dylan loved the castle he got.

Maya loved Pablo the dog....or as she said it "pawo" he loved her too...i am sure especially as she slipped him bits of her dinner!!!

With Granny in the garden.

Zoomed in to take this pic of Maya then asked what was in her mouth..as she opened it a dark fountain of mud poured out!!!!!

At the bird park.....and the iguana "knersis" (spelling?)

Fast asleep with Dora and Woody!

With Amy's kids Brandon and Damien.

Gabriel's freaky photo..not sure what happened to his arm!

Boys in the computer room.

Ciro , Daniel and Gabriel.

Showing off that they are taller than their dad...

And with Gi-pa too.

Maya with Auntie Corinna...

South Africa hols part two

The whole fam (both sides) got together for lunch.

Maya with her cousins.

Later on in the day Maya and Kaylin really warmed up to each other and had a great game going on...in and out of the house, driving their "Car" etc..

Dylan with his Gi-pa

and with Uncle Ian...ooo lollipop:)

Morning sunbeams with Pablo.

Wrestling at Granny and Gi-pa's house.

Posing at Granny's.

Dylan and Kaylin building puzzles on the veranda.

It was Liam's birthday while we were there so we had some cake to celebrate.

All the cousins.

Maya with her Auntie and Uncle

Having a snack with Granny and Gi-pa.

Maya was in love with Leah..when Leah arrived she got the biggest hugs and at one point the conversation went like this.Me: "Maya you have to get dressed." Maya: "Nooooo!!!!!" flinging herself on the floor!! Leah: "Maya you must get dressed" Maya: "Okay!" Hmmm.

Trolley made for two...well not quite but she liked the compartment.

After her (first)haircut...a trim of the back.

Hugs from D

Maya during one of her "I will not get changed or bath " tantrums fell asleep mid-tantrum.

Teatime.

Me and mum.

The three boys and Maya

After a hectic check in....took about an hour for the queue to move through the three counters they had open (grrr) we did not have a lot of time to say goodbye at the airport. In a way probably best, goodbyes are never nice. Got to the gate just as it was opening. As it was just after 1pm the kids were not tired and so they only fell asleep the last two hours of the 10+ hour flight. Still all went well...kept themselves busy with the movies etc...

In transit in Singapore at 5am. Got into our house 27 hours after leaving Mom and Dad's....Phew!
